Game Informer. With Sims 3, console gamers finally get a true translation of the gameplay that has made the PC entries such a hit. Engaging new content and intuitive design makes picking up the console port of EA's digital dollhouse a no-brainer.
A good porting of the PC experience. Maybe some extra content could've made this one a must buy deal, but still if you love the Sims and have an HD console, this must be yours. While the Console Sims 3 paints its picture with broader brushstrokes than its PC counterpart, it still captures all that's great about this series. The customisation, irreverent humour, bizarre character creation options, and online exchange features are all here, with good design and time-suckingly great gameplay.
Still, annoying controls and irritant loading times are there to frustrate the player. It's amazing that The Sims 3 works so well with a controller and that many of the PC functions are still intact. So if you're curious about the Sims and don't own a computer, you should try out the console version. It's true that key gameplay elements are still there, and its gameplay options guarantee dozens of hours of play, but its unbalanced pace and its noteworthy technical flaws result in a tedious experience, and make its virtues dilute.
User Reviews. Write a Review. Positive: 7 out of Mixed: 3 out of Negative: 3 out of This game is fantastic! This is the best Sims has ever been on console Karma Powers rock!!! I've played Sims 3 on the PC and I've played other versions of the game on handhelds. I've also played Sims 2 on console. By far this is the best translation of a Sims game from PC to console. They got it all right.
There is a new feature in the game where you can use Karma powers. This changes the game dramatically. You can "get lucky" in a matter of minutes now. You can curse someone you don't like I'll save a few surprises. This adds a whole new level to the Sims unpredictability. This new Karma power stuff is new and available in only the console versions. Also for all trophy and achievement whores out there I would say about half are pretty easy to get Good stuff EA!

You see, my sister is a casual gamer, which means she games just enough to where its fun to watch her play. If you're a fan of the Sims series, chances are you already own this game on your PC, but on the off chance that you don't, the console version is a good substitute.
The addictive formula that worked on PCs translates well to consoles, and you may find yourself neglecting your own needs to make sure your starving Sim gets some food.
The controls may seem complicated at first, but the game does a fine job of easing you into the experience with its tutorial system. Once you get the hang of it, it's really quite easy. With some minor performance problems and the limited world, this title lacks some replayability right out of the gate.
