Steam account hacked items stolen

Marujido View Profile View Posts. Hi Everyone, My account was hacked, it had 60 dollars left in it due to funding the account at the beginning of CoronaVirus. I wanted to buy a few older games that I use to play for fun. They made my position essential due to sensitive data center work that needed to be done.

So I stopped playing for awhile again. I came back this week to find out my account's password was wrong it took me 3 days to figure out how to login only to find my funds gone and a gift sent to account Barboskin.

I requested a refund and was denied because this guy decided to play the game for more than 2 hours. What can I do?

Small claims court or what? Showing 1 - 15 of comments. There isn't anything you can do, you logged onto a phising site or didn't secure your account. You need to take better care of your account so people can't get access to it.

Also the account wasn't hacked, you compromised yourself and someone got your password. Big difference between the two. First of all, let's make it very clear that your account wasn't 'hacked'. Your account may have been compromised because you didn't use the proper security measures that Valve has put in place or you might have given your credentials away on a phising site.

Either way, you neglected to properly protect your own account. As a result you will have to face the consequences of that. There is nothing you can do, apart from securing your account properly. Phishing is a common method used by hackers and scammers to gain access to accounts in only a matter of seconds.

Once again, these scammers have found a way to victimize users on the prominent gaming service, Steam. The credentials-stealing website was first reported by nullcookies on Twitter. Now, the websites are becoming more realistic, with some even pretending to be actual e-Sports organizations.

Picture-in-picture Steam phish using a bogus giveaway as bait. Usually, the scammers either comment on your Steam profile or send you a message with the URL to their bogus website or a YouTube video. Even if you have Steam Authenticator activated, it will be removed. If you have a recovery e-mail associated with your account, it will be changed. The website will also send a message to everyone in your friends-list with the URL of the bogus website. After sending the support ticket you will get an automatic answer.

Do the things they tell you and answer with something like "I've done the things you recommended me". Otherwise your ticket will be closed after two days. So it is really important to answer to this recommendation. As I already said at the beginning; you surely will get your items back. The problem is that the Steam support has a lot of work and they will need at least 3 weeks to answer.

DO NOT open up a new support ticket, if they didn't answer you after weeks! This won't help. More likley it will delay everything. Just answer only once and then just wait for it. Please make sure that you've completed every single step. Only one single ticket open?

Explained the situation exactly and added a proof that it is you account? Responded to the automatic message? Waited at least 3 weeks? They are not anymore in his inventory Will I still receive them back? How do I screenshot? Also my name does not stay in the upper right corner! It's 1 week now and still no answer! It does not work mimimi! Lynch Slow. Shibe 1 Nov, am. I dont think valve is gonna get your items back, tried it once and they can only give it back till I think.
