Maybe this christmas rapidshare

I liked the characters of Lucas and Alex well enough. I felt like I might even like them more if more time had been spent in developing them.

Instead, each chapters we get long expositions about things that had happened to them during the previous year. It bothered me, but I guess it actually makes sense. Don't we all do that when we gather with friends and relatives once a year for Christmas? We just recap a year of experiences at one dinner. That's essentially what is happening in this book. The real problem occurs because it is hard to feel the epic nature of their romance when we are basically experiencing it in hyperdrive without any of the small moments that build up to epic love in a full length novel.

So, for what it was, this was a nice little holiday novella that didn't quite hit the spot, but was good enough to make me happy to see the beginning of a HEA at the conclusion. I'll give it three stars.

I liked it. This was a really cute and super quick read. Every chapter is set on Christmas Day from all the way through It was a creative way to tell the story of Alex and Lucas as they go through all their ups and downs and all-arounds while always finding themselves looking for each other. Maybe This Christmas was very well written and included themes of sexuality, divorce, and friendship and how these things change you while also helping you to grow into who you're meant to be.

A great little This was a really cute and super quick read. A great little story and an author I'm definitely going to be reading from again- especially because she managed to write a romance book where I didn't find myself rolling my eyes at one character or another at some point. A huge feat. The one negative I have to share is the fact that the cover is misleading. I chose this book because it had Christmas in the title and snow on the cover.

This book is set in Texas- never once was there snow. As a matter of fact, the friend group likes to spend Christmas evenings together on a beach after they've spent sufficient time with their families. For some folks this will be no big deal but I'm from upstate New York and the thought of Christmas near a beach with no snow is appalling. It's a testament to the author that I found myself seriously enjoying this book despite it not being the atmosphere I was looking for.

I highly recommend this to romance fans, especially those who tend to enjoy adult romance minus the more erotic details. This is a lovely, PG, adult Christmas romance. For those looking for a Christmas romance more on the erotic side I recommend Merry Inkmas which is my favorite romantic, yet sexy, holiday book to date.

I love this book. I love how this author was able to put ten plus years on this book and make it all make since and not feel like anything was left out. It all starts out the year Alex and Lucas are set to graduate and start to date. Then goes through ten years of many ups and downs? The thing is are they strong enough to make it through?

Do they meet other people? Are that able to keep the the same friendship? This is just a book that you need to read to see what all happens and how life can ch I love this book.

This is just a book that you need to read to see what all happens and how life can change thing. And not just their life but there parents and siblings. Dec 04, Melindeeloo rated it liked it Shelves: christmas. It takes many Christmases to bring the pair who were high school friends and then sweethearts their HEA. The gimmick was that we only see the pair once a year around Christmas, but the reconnecting and getting closer really happens off screen so the romance wasn't really satisfying, I understand that this is a novella but Enjoyable the only reason that it doesn't get 4 stars is that it was too short.

I just felt like to much happened between every year that wasn't explained enough. A cute holiday novella about second chances at love. I had the honor of being a sensitively reader for this book and was deeply impressed with the thoughtfulness around the experiences of bisexual women and that romance can come in many ways. Nov 26, Shruti rated it really liked it.

Pretty much what I expected although not quite Christmas-y but definitely very friends to lovers angsty. Dec 13, Ann rated it really liked it. This book is about 2 friends and their relationship over a period of ten years. Lucas and Alex go through changes as each chapter advances by exactly 1 year. Interesting and a fast read.

Nov 14, Prerana rated it liked it Shelves: romance. What a cute novella! Obviously, it would be considerably better if it was a full-length novel, but I nonetheless loved how adorable it was and the whole concept of the Christmas thing. It really was very, very cute. And I'm out. Nov 10, Becca rated it really liked it Shelves: own-ebook. Quick, cute read. Like many novellas, I wanted more story but was satisfied with the telling and the way it ended.

Nov 27, Tina rated it did not like it. I did not care about this couple. The story was predictable in a boring way. Oct 19, Babel rated it liked it Shelves: christmas , romance , novella , original , surprising , cute , small-town-romance , lgtb. I have fallen in love with this cover. It's the perfect face for this seasonal treat.

Short and cute, this little romance starts with two friends celebrating a party at the beach in their quaint town. I loved the moment they close the gap and seal their hidden feelings with a kiss.

That happens at the beginninig so of course there's going to be some upheaval to cross the would-be lovers. Sadly, they grow apart. I confess I had a hard time accepting the reason. It seemed reasonable, but how can yo I have fallen in love with this cover. It seemed reasonable, but how can you just move on from the very thing you've been pining for after such a long time? I liked that every chapter shows a different Christmas day and is told from one of the 2 characters' POV. As to the progression of the relationship, I was dumbfounded.

She was supposed to be all in but then goes on a direction that threw me for a loop. It really baffled me and is not what I like. Though it's something that could happen in real life, so there's that. Despite the weird fact that they keep being apart, the narrative is sweet and relatable. It does get better and it turns out to be rewarding, but it's a windy path there! The ending is finally all the romance and reconciliation that I'd been anticipating.

I liked the male character a lot, his patience and steadfast feelings, and his sweaters! Oct 11, Anna Reads Here rated it it was amazing Shelves: kindle-reads , arcs. I am so glad to have received an ARC of this book, even though I'm putting my review up so late. And yet, this book was everything I wanted. It was too short, though. I feel like if Susannah builds this into a full book, I would drop everything just to soak it up. I love how relatable the whole story is, because I am so glad to have received an ARC of this book, even though I'm putting my review up so late.

And I love that Alex is bisexual and that her parents accept it without holding back. But with a story like this, you know how things are going to turn out. Oct 22, Brandy Hensley rated it it was amazing. I love Susannah Nix. I really feel like I can't say that enough. You know how you have that list of authors you anxiously await new releases from?

She is near the top of mine. This adorable story didn't disappoint. It follows Alex and Lucas from their last year in high school through college graduation and young adulthood, taking place on Christmas Day each year. You would think that would be a limited scope, but the characters were actually surprisingly deep for a novella of this format, addressing issues such as bisexuality and divorce. If you're a fan of November 9 by Colleen Hoover, you'll definitely love this sweet story.

As per usual, I'm left anxiously awaiting the next offering from Susannah! Oct 17, Merry Jelks-Emmanuel rated it it was amazing. This small town romance will definitely grab you attention. It is descriptive and well written about two high school friends who share a kiss on Christmas and return each year to celebrate that first kiss. Alexandra was destined for college while Lucas remained in town to work for his father. Each year that they celebrate marks a change in their lives but will it be enough for these two to find closure and move to a happily ever after with each other or will they remain in the same dormant state This small town romance will definitely grab you attention.

Each year that they celebrate marks a change in their lives but will it be enough for these two to find closure and move to a happily ever after with each other or will they remain in the same dormant state repeating their first Christmas each year? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Sadly this was a bummer for me. Nothing that blew me away, though. To be honest, it read to me as if they stayed teenagers year after year because I did not get a sense of character growth. I wanted to like this one more, but sadly did not. Oct 14, Jill Hart rated it it was amazing.

I loved this Christmas novella! It was the perfect read to put me in the Christmas spirit. Nix is such a masterful storyteller that even her novellas bring out the full range of emotions - hope, joy, sadness, longing, and then back to hope.
