Counselling for Children Who Witness Domestic Violence French only This program serves to help French speaking children and adolescents aged 6 to 15 and their mothers who have been exposed to, witnessed, or are victims of domestic abuse.

This program helps children understand abuse against women; find positive ways to share feelings and handle conflict; reduce shame and fear; and discuss safety planning. Mothers are also offered individual and group counselling. The focus is on helping mothers understand the impact of woman abuse on children; providing resources regarding custody and access issues; addressing self-esteem and self-care; and discussing safety planning for themselves and their child ren.

YSB works with youth to understand and address the links between anger and action, which can sometimes lead to conflict with the law. The One-on-One Anger Management Program is offered by trained and experienced facilitators who help youth realize that excessive anger can be controlled. Based on the balanced approach recommended by psychologists, this program demonstrates how to express healthy anger in appropriate ways while controlling the triggers, the intensity, and the negative effects of unhealthy anger.

In this way, the program counsellors help youth develop new skills and rebuild self-esteem.
